Categories
There are four categories:
> Young Arts Achiever
> Young Community Achiever
> Young Environment Achiever
> Young Sport Achiever
Nominations will only be accepted for one category
per person.
Nominations
Nominations will only be accepted if received on or before
20th December 2007.
Nominations will only be accepted for UK resident individuals involved in voluntary projects/activities that have taken place during the past 12 months. (Beneficiaries can be overseas).
Nominees must be aged between 16 or over and no older than 25 (ie. under 26) on 20th December 2007 and the activity wholly unpaid.
Nominators must be over 16.
Nominations will only be accepted for volunteering activity by committed individuals. Group nominations will not be valid.
Self-nominations are acceptable on the condition that the nomination is verified by a sponsor/fellow volunteer/organisation.
To be valid, nominations must be received via the official website [www.youngachievers.co.uk] or by post using the official entry form or a photocopy of it.
Supporting material/additional pages will not be considered.
Postal nominations should be sent to:

Nominations not signed by the nominator will be invalid.
Nominees must be available to attend the awards ceremony
to be held in London on 20th March.
Nomination forms will not be returned.
Employees of partner organisations may not be nominated
but can nominate.
Judging and shortlisting
Judging will take place between 21 December 2007
and 14 February 2008.
There will be a shortlist of 12 nominations (3 per category).
There will be commendations for a further 32 nominations.
Shortlisted nominees will be notified by 18th February 2008.
All 56 nominees will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in London on 20th March 2008.
The judges’ decision is final. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into at any time.
Prizes
Winners in each of the eight categories receive:
> £2,000 for personal and project development
> Follow-on support programme to help the winners develop their skills and realise their ambitions, run in partnership with Unltd Ventures.
> Opportunity to apply for Big Boost funding up to £5,000.
> "Money can't buy" opportunities.
Two runners up in the four categories win:
> £500 for personal and project development.
> Follow-on support programme, run in partnership with UnLtd Ventures.
> Opportunity to apply for Big Boost funding up to £5,000.
Thirty two commended nominees each win:
> £50 cash prize
> Opportunity to apply for Big Boost funding up to £5,000
The prizes are non-transferable and there are no alternatives. The description of the prizes and any awards literature is not binding and may be subject to change.
Publicity
Young Achievers Trust, Whitbread Group PLC, v and associated partners reserve the right to publish the nominations and seek/issue publicity on behalf of all nominees.
It is a condition of nomination that all nominees must cooperate with the Young Achievers Trust, its partner organisations and agents in the publicity and promotion of the Young Achievers awards.
The Young Achievers Trust reserves the right to refuse any nomination for any reason considered justifiable, and reserves the right to vary the rules and conditions of nomination and alter the published programme, as may be deemed necessary.
